Access in detail
The World Conference Center in Bonn is a complex consisting of a convention centre, office building with shops and underground parking garage, and a hotel. It serves as an expansion of the existing convention centre in the parliamentary building opposite and is connected to it by a forecourt. The foyer shaped as a “crystal” is a distinctive architectural feature, joining all levels with an airspace. A three-story hall forms the core of the building. Mobile partition walls make it possible to link a smaller saloon and conference rooms with it.

Construction of the complex designed by YES architecture began in 2007. Two years later the project had to be put on hold for economic reasons and work came to a halt for three years. Completing the construction project is based on a detailed examination of the existing plans and diligent current planning. Details of the finishing, grounds and building services engineering are being adapted to current user requirements and state-of-the-art technology.
